How To Clean Your Couch
-
Vacuum the couch: Use the upholstery attachment on your vacuum to remove dirt, dust, and crumbs from the surface and crevices of the couch.
-
Spot clean any stains: Mix a small amount of mild detergent with water and apply it to the stain with a clean cloth, working from the outside in to avoid spreading the stain. Blot the area with a clean, damp cloth to remove the cleaning solution.
-
Deep clean the upholstery: If your couch is made of a light-colored fabric or has visible dirt or stains, you may need to do a deeper cleaning. Mix a small amount of mild detergent with warm water and use a clean, damp cloth to gently scrub the surface of the couch, working in small sections. Be sure to rinse the cloth frequently and blot the couch with a dry cloth to remove excess moisture.
-
Remove any lingering odors: If your couch has an unpleasant smell, you can try using a natural odor-eliminating spray or placing a bowl of white vinegar on the couch to absorb the odor.
-
Protect the couch: To help prevent future stains and dirt, consider using furniture protectors or applying a fabric protector to the upholstery.
Note: Be sure to test any cleaning solution or product on a small, inconspicuous area of the couch before applying it to the entire piece of furniture to ensure that it does not cause any discoloration or damage.
